Our single source underground water supply degraded with expanding population and least restrictive health dept standards in the country. It is not surprising to see water quality impairment with high population density and lax standards for sanitary code. Suffolk county is the 23 rd most populated county in the USA. Zoning restrictions are intended to protect the health , safety and welfare of its citizens . High density cluster development in a watershed area will only add a greater burden to our water supply and fragile environment.
